DHL, one of the world’s foremost freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution and supply chain management companies, provide exceptional Driver training (Driver CPC) to their own teams, to drivers from other organisations and to self-employed drivers. In the Spring of 2009 it was decided that the nationwide team of 45 Driver Trainers would benefit from additional training to enable them to deliver in a highly participative and more engaging manner.
Working closely with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Create the Space designed and delivered a bespoke two-day programme that enhanced the facilitation skills of the Driver CPC trainers and provided them with a toolkit of training activities, energisers and icebreakers to help them deliver the training in a fresh, enjoyable and especially interactive way. The programme required each Trainer to complete significant pre-course work and to deliver an element of a pre-designed Driver CPC course in a facilitative style. In order to gain accreditation/certification, each Trainer was assessed against CILT agreed criteria that included the planning and preparation of a training session as well as its delivery.
